Pray

Linda ~ 2 Dec 05
1. For the success of the PFI and SARE grants, which are entirely geared to FWF development.

2. For help in making ends meet in the immediate future and for good longer-range financial decisions. I need to clear my debts, including what I owe to family members, and establish a viable means of support for upcoming years.

3. I recently cancelled my health insurance because I couldn't pay the premium. I was additionally encouraged to do this because they had sent a notice that they were increasing the premium by $45 during December and I thought the coverage was already inadequate. I will be entitled to health insurance through Alegent as of April 1, and after that it depends upon my job options. I'm not sure if I should be looking for another insurance option for the coming few months, or if I should just wait it out until the Alegent option kicks in.

1. I feel like I'm in a bit of a depression, not finding energy for accomplishing very much even when I have some time available. I'm tired, emotionally and physically, and want to get into better shape both before my family arrives for Christmas and to be better prepared for the transplant whenever it happens.

2. Going along with #1, I'd appreciate prayer for discerning what I should try to do and what I should let go, including how much to invest in Christmas preparations.

3. I am looking for a car to replace Max--still have three weeks until I can't drive Max any more, and Battle has offered his car to help cover our needs if I haven't found one by then, so it's not a huge pressure situation but would be nice to resolve before the transplant, if possible.
ANSWERED: 14 Dec! ~ I am now the grateful and relieved owner of a 97 Plymouth Voyager minivan!  Dark green, seems to be in excellent shape!

1. For Nathan's safety and for God to be working His own plan in his and our lives.

2. For us as we prepare for and experience this two weeks together, being both realistic with expectations and willing to hope that time home and then in Guate will be redemptive.

3. For the wife of my friend's dad who died suddenly in Oct, who is behaving with similar anger and depression.

4. For a true focus on Christ, both at home and in ministry involvements in these next busy weeks.

  1. I've asked over the last year for you to pray for my deliverance from a spirit of fear/timidity/intimidation to live in God's Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind/self-discipline (2 Tim. 1:7).  God has been significantly freeing me!  As I rejoice and live in that, I'm now praying about that spirit of a sound mind/self-discipline.  Now that I am free to make good choices, not based on guilt or fear, to truly live that life of grace, I am aware of how little experience I have with true self-control.  I am asking God to especially develop that fruit of the Spirit in me.  Pray, too, that I will stand fast in the liberty with which Christ has made me free, and not be bound again by that hideous yoke of bondage.
  2. I am particularly burdened for a friend who I sense is nearing readiness to respond to God. She expressed some things in passing the other night that I felt were real open doors for Christ to particularly show Himself to her. As we’re both busy with our children, I pray for God’s opportunity and timing to speak with her, if that is His way, or of His working in some other way in response to our prayers. How I long for her to know Him!
  3. Pray for wisdom for Ben as he receives his responses from colleges and makes decisions about stepping out on his own next year.
